Our team
A family, a few close friends, and no paid staff
Every board member volunteers their time. No officer or director takes a salary.

Jenny Jacobs
President and Founder
Christie's daughter. Jenny founded the Fanny Pack Foundation to carry forward her mom's legacy of generosity and to bring immediate relief to families facing ALS in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
Shelly Kenney
Secretary
Christie's daughter and a founding board member of the Fanny Pack Foundation.

Dan Gallagher
Treasurer
Dan is Chief Financial Officer of Stier Supply Company, where he has led finance, accounting, IT and human resources since 2022. Before that he spent about 22 years in the forest products, packaging and chemicals industries with Ingevity Corporation and its predecessors, WestRock and MeadWestvaco, where he led the spin-off from WestRock, built the investor relations function and served as a division CFO.
Dan and his wife Shannon have been married for 20 years, have three sons and have lived in Charleston since 2009. He has served on the boards of the Gibbes Museum of Art and Trident United Way. ALS is personal for Dan: his grandmother passed away from complications of ALS in 1998. He holds a BS in finance from Miami University and an MBA from Emory University.

Elizabeth Shealy Nazionale
Board Member
Elizabeth is from Columbia, South Carolina. She married her husband Randy in 2012, and in 2013 they welcomed their son Mason, at whose school she volunteers in a variety of ways. She previously served on the Ronald McDonald House Charities board alongside her mother, Suzy Shealy, from 2011 to 2013.
In March 2013 Suzy was diagnosed with ALS. As the disease progressed, Elizabeth became her full-time caregiver, with the support of her entire family, until Suzy passed away on June 14, 2022. Through their nearly decade-long ALS journey, Elizabeth found creative tools to help Suzy keep as much dignity and independence as possible, and became a fierce advocate for everyone affected by ALS and those who care for them.
Elizabeth and Suzy had the honor of meeting Christie and her family along their own ALS journey.

J. Blair Giles, MPA
Board Member
Blair is a sports marketing and management professional and educator. His work with global, high-profile sports figures and properties has grown into the nonprofit space, where he focuses on the positive impact sports can make on society, from cancer research to bullying prevention, and now families facing ALS.
A long-time friend of Christie and the Stier family, Blair cares deeply about remembering Christie's legacy of hope and faith amid her battle with ALS by supporting those who face similar challenges.
